CEF Industries is a leading designer and manufacturer of mechanical systems and electro-mechanical systems for aerospace and defense applications. With over 65 years of experience, we provide mission-critical components to major aerospace OEMs and operators worldwide.
Our name reflects our heritage: CEF is derived from three pioneering companies—Calco Engineering & Manufacturing, Firon Industries, and Flexible Shafts—that merged to create today’s full-service aerospace supplier.
Our Products
CEF manufactures a comprehensive range of aerospace components including linear electro-mechanical actuators and rotary electro-mechanical actuators for utility actuation, cargo lock actuation, and landing gear actuation. We produce oil-less air compressors for pressurization systems, ball screws for precision motion control, and flexible shafts for remote actuation. Our product line also includes cargo handling system components for military transport aircraft, gear boxes for power transmission, pumps for avionics cooling, and control electronics for complex aerospace systems.
Military Transport Leadership
CEF is the world leader in installed electro-mechanical cargo handling systems on military transport aircraft.
Our cargo handling heritage stretches back to the mid-1940s, and we’ve been supplying the C-130 Hercules platform since the 1960s. Today, CEF provides over 80 Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) to each C-130J aircraft.

Our Facility
Our 85,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Addison, Illinois features state-of-the-art machining, assembly, and testing equipment. Located just 20 minutes from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, we serve customers globally with responsive engineering support and on-time delivery.
